President’s Welcome

2023-2024 TERM

Thank you ASMC for allowing me the opportunity to serve once again as your 2023-2024 President. The term officially kicked off this past month and I’m getting re-energized and excited to work with all the new Officers and Committee Chairs that are going to contribute to making this a memorable (hopefully in a good way) year. COL Samuel Glover did an exceptional job leading the Chapter this past year. We are all going to miss his enthusiasm and I hope that he stays in touch as the year goes on. I know I will miss all those Hooahs and of course the legendary “triple play”.

I couldn’t ask for a better Vice President than Debbie O’Neal, the one I call the “Heart and Soul” of this Organization. I get a little more inspired every time we talk because there truly isn’t a more dedicated and selfless individual who cares more about our Chapter than her. I admire her work ethic and determination to never quit and attitude to always help others around her. I guess I would say I’m very fortunate to know Debbie and that wouldn’t have been possible without being actively involved in ASMC.

I often talk about the importance of the profession. Not only perfecting what you know, but who you are as an individual. We should all be striving to better ourselves. I assume every person that is a member of this Society wants to be the best in their profession and cares about making a differ-ence. We serve in many capacities in many different offices, but all serve in support of our great military. I’m proud to think out-side of our day to day jobs there are folks in our Society that care enough to help the community, help provide academic and training opportunities, help professional development and growth, help foster teamwork, help focus on shortfalls and shortcomings, and ultimately helping each other to become better. Development is a process of change and by doing so you will not only help yourself, others, but also this Chapter to continue to thrive and grow.

I think we have a solid foundation, and the sky is the limit. I encourage you to think about your involvement and how you could get better plugged in with ASMC. If you have questions and/or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via email at jeffrey.a.bacon6.civ@army.mil.
